Employee Wellbeing
Employee Wellbeing 💚
We understand that employee health and wellbeing is important, and we do our best to support this by providing an Employee Assistance Programme, Vitality Private Healthcare, Perkbox Wellness Hub, Able Futures, Company Wellbeing Channel and signposting to other useful resources outwith the business.
Recently, we appointed four Mental Health First Aiders to act as a point of contact and provide support to those experiencing a mental health issue or emotional distress. Here's what they have to say about wellness in the workplace & why they are proud to be Mental Health First Aiders..
Our Mental Health First Aiders

For myself, I have struggled with my Mental Health & Wellbeing at times, and when I have, it has always been the support and acknowledgement from others that has helped me move through it. There is something reassuring in knowing that alongside our commitment to our work, Space 48 makes a commitment to our wellbeing. I'm proud to be a MH First Aider at Space 48 as it allows me to give back and support others, and from that we all feel a real sense of community.

Health is just health, whether it is physical or mental. When I was a lifeguard (many years ago) my main priority was stopping people from drowning and now at Space 48 in our remote world I see my role of being a Mental Health First Aider to be exactly the same. I am here to give you a lifebuoy and help you swim through the rough waters. Space 48 is showing a commitment to good mental health and the culture and I love being part of that.

Mental Health & Wellbeing for me is critical to everything we do at work and beyond. The way we approach a situation or project, the innovative ideas that come up - Without taking good care of our selves and recognising when we need to support each other, we wouldn’t be the tight knit team of experts we are today, that’s why I’m proud to be a MHFA.

Mental health plays a vital role in our overall wellbeing, and is just as important as physical health. What makes Space 48 so special, is the people. And that's why it's super important that we take care of them; by providing them with the support they need during both good, and more difficult times. As a Mental Health First Aider, I feel grateful that I can play a small part in providing that support and reassurance to our employees. Without them, Space 48 wouldn't be where it is today.
